Ridesharing is a great way to save money and reduce CO2 emissions. Also, a lot of states are adopting laws that will give incentives to people who carpool, one of those incentives being the use carpool lanes.

I've tried Craigslist and eRideshare, but one of my favorites is Amovens.com. It's easy to post rides or find commutes. They even host holiday give-aways, such as a free $25 gas card for people who successfully set-up a carpool for the week of Thanksgiving. I would definitely recommend giving any of the above sites a try!

I bought the pump at Home Depot. It is a Utilitech 1 hp pump motor. The inlet and outlet to the pump are fittings that accept garden hose connectors. The pump cost $150.

This is fantastic! I am a big fan of rain barrels but am glad to see how you were able to pressurize it to use with your hose. Can you tell me a little more about the pump you purchased? Cost? Where did you get it?

Thanks so much!

Another thought: Read the label. If it doesn't list ALL ingredients (Better Life products do) or if ingredients are unpronounceable, look elsewhere!

I'm a civil liberties person myself, but I have to confess that I don't understand the danger. Compared to credit card companies, banks, and telecommunications companies -- which have vast amounts of information on each customer's behavior and interests -- what info could the power companies collect that would infringe on personal liberties? I'd like a concrete example, because I can't think of one. Power companies seem to me to be very far down the list of dangers to personal liberties.
